The Dream

Once again I have awoken from a beautiful series of dreams that have been visiting me since about halfway through my Irish escapade.

Usually, when the dreams are as vivid - I take heed and try to do my best to learn and understand. This particular dream is an exception as I feel like it's meaning is currently beyond me, but is so vivid that the details remain fresh in my mind upon waking.

Since I was a youth, I've had dreams where I can fly. Most of the time, I fly a foot off the ground, weaving around at great speed. I don't have these flying dreams all the time but they come to me when I am in within moments of change. I love these flying dreams as they are exhilarating.

The dream I have been having these past couple of weeks adds a new reoccurring element.

Basically, I am flying around. Sometimes I am in a city. Other times I am flying over oceans, or weaving through a forest or over sand dunes. No matter where I am in my dream, I always end up being somehow drawn to a large circular field full of long, flowing grass gently moving in the breeze.

In the middle of this field, stands an almighty tree with giant boughs. The tree is very impressive, much taller than any tree I have ever seen with my eyes. The tree is so tall that at the base of the trunk is daylight, but at the top of it's canopy are stars.

As I fly closer to the tree, I can see coloured ribbons of light gently flowing over the trunk and branches. I usually end up flying around the base of this tree in a lazy circular "holding pattern".

The ribbons of light extend out to me and each ribbon produces a silent, vibrational whisper. As I fly around the tree, these ribbons catch against me. As the ribbons touch my skin, the whispers of vibration that they produce share wisdoms and concepts that amaze me in the dream state (but I always forget these when I awaken, d'oh - maybe concepts not meant for my conscious world).

The dream always ends with me somehow attaining a level of enlightenment from flying through these energy ribbons which affects my normal dream flying. Instead of hovering just above the ground (as I always seem to do) I shoot upwards into the tree and end up being entwined in the ribbons of light. It all happens so quick that I seem to fuse with the energy and become a part of the tree.

When I awaken, I'm feeling utterly fantastic. I always lie in bed trying to understand this spectacular and rapid end to the dream. Last night was probably the 8th time I've had this dream in the space of two weeks.

I can't complain about waking and feeling so jubilant, but I would love to know what this dream is about. How has it suddenly come into my life?
